The Hidden Wifi Spy Camera Pro for Exams has a very small size ideal for viewing computer screens or exams thanks to a 90º angle and a high quality image.
The camera can be hidden in any clothing or accessory thanks to the buttons included in the kit. The central module of the camera can be attached to the skin using adhesive tape or similar to improve its fixation.
Two versions are available depending on whether the battery is integrated or external, varying in width. The battery life is approximately 4 hours.
The kit can be purchased with a portable wifi router and a vip pro spy earpiece.

Step 0 - Original CooMax Product
Verify that it is an original CooMax product by checking that the brand name on the cards included with the product is the same as the one in the image.
Select the instructions of the version or accessory you want to check:
Step 1 - Instructions Spy Camera Pro
It is very important never to bend the camera cable more than 90 degrees or kink the camera cable or the internal connectors will be damaged causing display failure. Do not pull the camera cable sharply or leave it dangling.
The camera can function in several ways:
- Local: we must insert a microSD card into the camera. When the camera is turned on, it will automatically record both video and audio with the built-in microphone until it is turned off.
- Remote with Wifi: the camera connects to the wifi network of a router or the wifi network created by a mobile phone with mobile data to transmit remotely over the internet to anywhere in the world (no microSD required in this mode).
Select the mode you want to use:
Step 2 - Local Mode
Step 2.1 - microSD Introduction
To use the camera for local recording simply insert the microSD card (max size 128GB and format FAT32) before turning on the camera. Then press the ON button and the camera will start recording (if it does not turn on, charge with the included cable and charger for at least 1 hour). It is recommended to test before use by checking that it records correctly and verifying the free size on the card.
It is convenient to download the app (links in the next step), and connect to the wifi network created by the camera “HW-xxxx” to configure it and adjust its focus.
To turn off, press and hold the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds until the LED turns off.
Step 3 - Remote with Wifi
Step 3.1 - Application Download
Download the HDCameraPro application to your mobile phone by clicking on the Android or App Store (iPhone) icon.
Step 3.2 - Acceptance of Permissions
Open the application for the first time and allow all required permissions.
Step 3.3 - Turn On and Status Lights
ATTENTION – It is normal for the camera to get warm in use. This is a chip design issue and does not affect its operation.
Press one time the ON/OFF button. If it does not turn on leave it charging for at least 1 hour.
The blue LED will light up and then the green will start flashing*.
*If the green light does not flash, it will not be possible to configure it. To reset the camera, if necessary, we must insert a clip in the reset button for 5 seconds with the camera switched on. Then wait 15 seconds for the process to finish.
The camera has a blue, green and a red light to indicate the camera’s status:
- Steady Blue first, and flashing Green: turn on camera and wifi HW-xxxx on and ready for configuration or connection in ap mode/wifi mode.
- Fixed Light – Green: Mobile connected to the HW-xxxx wifi network for configuration or viewing in ap/wifi mode.
- Flashing Blue and Green Flashing: camera searching for the wifi network to which it has been configured and trying to connect.
- Fixed Blue and Green Light: Camera configured and connected to the wifi network of the router or created by the mobile phone.
- Steady Light – Red: Charging. It will turn off when the charge is 100%.
Step 3.4 - Wifi Camera Connection
Open the WiFi settings on your mobile phone and connect to the HW-XXXX WiFi network.
If you get a prompt asking if you want to keep the wifi connection, click on keep connected.
Step 3.5 - AP Mode and Focus Setting
If we have correctly connected to the wifi of the camera with the name HW-XXXX when we open the application, the camera will appear online connected via Wifi Mode/AP Mode (if it doesn’t appear temporarily disable mobile data to force wifi connection and restart app). This mode allows you to connect and view the camera via the wifi created by the camera in a range of 10 meters.
To see the camera, click on the center of the image.
Now we have to adjust the manual focus. To do this, rotate the lens (yellow shaded part in the picture) by holding the camera by the pink part. Do not hold the camera by the cable. Depending on the direction of rotation, the focus will move closer or further away:
- Clockwise rotation -> Farthest
- Counterclockwise rotation -> Closer
It is important to set it correctly to the distance at which you want to focus on the paper, computer screen or environment.
Step 3.6 - Microphone
Click on the speaker icon to listen to the sound picked up by the camera’s microphone. Remember to turn up the volume on your phone and unmute.
Step 3.7 - Wifi Network Connection
Open the main screen and click on the + icon in the top right corner.
Then select “Equipment AP distribution network“.
Click on “Start” connecting” and then “Next“.
If “Device not found” error appears, our mobile is not connected to the camera’s wifi (HW-xxxx) or we have not given the permission in the app.
Next, click on “Refresh” and select the wifi network of the router or created by a mobile phone from the list (if you don’t know how to create a wifi network with your mobile or you don’t see the wifi network you want, check this page in the section of frequent problems) and remember it must be 2.4Ghz wifi.
Enter the password of the router’s wifi network and click on “Configure Wifi” and “Sure”. In this step our mobile, which is still connected to the camera’s wifi, will communicate to the camera the wifi network to connect to.
Afterwards, the camera will turn off the wifi (HW-XXXX) and will connect to the wifi network that we have communicated to it and in this step our mobile should automatically reconnect to the internet (wifi with internet or mobile data) to check if the camera has been configured correctly.
A timer will start and we must wait for it to finish or for the main screen of the application to appear.
If “Configuration failed” appears, check frequent problems at this page.
If the camera lights are steady green and blue without flashing and the main screen of the app appears, it has been configured correctly.
Step 3.8 - Password
It will be necessary on the first display to enter a password for the camera twice in a pop-up window that will appear. The password must be at least 6 characters long. After typing it, click on “Sure“.
The camera will be configured and we will be able to view it from anywhere in the world with internet (P2P mode), remembering that the camera must always be near the wifi network to which it is connected.
Remember that the stability of the image depends on the quality of the wifi network connection to which the camera is connected and the internet connection of the mobile phone from which the camera is viewed.
Step 3.9 - Share Camera Access
On the main screen of the app, click on the share icon and then on “Save the QR Code to your phone”. The QR code will be saved in your phone’s gallery.
The QR generated includes the UID or unique identifier of our camera. Save it and share it along with the camera password set in the previous step.
The other person to whom we have shared the QR code and the camera password, while keeping the camera on, must install the application, open it and grant all the requested permissions.
On the main screen of the application:
- Click on the + button in the top right corner.
- Select “Mobile phone scanning QR code…”.
- Scan the QR Code with the camera or in the mobile phone gallery.
- Enter the password of the camera.
- Click on “Sure“.
The camera will be configured and can be viewed by tapping on the camera image on the main screen of the app.

Step 3.11 - Buttons and Fixing Pieces
There are many ways to hide the camera in clothing. The most common is in the sleeve, in a sweatshirt, jumper or shirt or in the collar hidden in a button.
Remember that you can make a gesture to show the paper or computer screen and have the other person viewing the camera remotely take a screenshot so that you don’t have to hold the gesture for too long.
It is very important NOT to pierce the camera cable when sewing, or it will be damaged and out of warranty.
Step 3.12 - Turn Off, Charge and Reset
To turn off press and hold the ON/OFF button for at least 3 seconds until lights goes off.
Charge the camera only with the included charging cable and charging plug or a maximum 5V and 1A charger to avoid damage to the battery. The module emits a red light while charging. When charged the red light will turn off automatically. Charging time is approximately 2-3 hours. The camera can be used while charging, but it is not recommended because it reduces the battery life.
To reset the camera you must first press and hold with a clip the reset button for 5 seconds while the camera is on and then wait at least one minute.
Step 4 - Spy Earpiece
Step 4.1 - Introduction Battery
Unscrew the black cover of the spy earpiece and insert the battery with the positive side facing up (where the letters of brand and model of battery are is the positive side).
Then screw the cap back on, making sure that it is screwed on correctly.
The battery begins to drain as soon as it is inserted into the spy earpiece and should be removed if not in use to avoid discharging the battery.
The battery model required for the vip pro spy earpieces is 337-SR416SW.
Step 4.2 - Clean and Function Check
This untuned radio-like sound is normal for all Vip Pro spy earpieces. It is due to the constant amplification of the inductive waves emitted by the piece. This sound diminishes when listening and when the battery power is decreasing. Thanks to this technology, we have great autonomy and small headphones.
First clean the ear thoroughly with a cotton swab, ear cleaning spray or water and dry it well. Next, clean the holes in the earpiece with a fine needle and be very careful to remove the wax that clogs the earpiece and can cause you to not hear anything.
Hold the spy earpiece to your ear and check that you can hear a sound similar to a tuneless radio. This sound indicates that it is switched on and working properly.

Step 4.3 - Introducing the Spy Earpiece
Insert the spy earpiece in the left ear. You can also insert it in the right ear, but we usually hear more in the left ear than in the right ear. You can push the spy earpiece with your finger. It is not recommended to push it in too far, as it is not necessary to hide it.
Step 4.4 - Spy Earpiece Camera Function
The Wifi Camera Pro includes a white inductor element that transmits sound to the spy earpiece. This white inductor element must always be between the neck and chest to transmit sound to the spy earpiece. It is possible to adjust the volume by moving the inductor element closer or further away from the earpiece. When the volume is appropriate we can fix the inductor element to the skin with tape.
To talk to the spy earpiece from the app we must press and hold the 10 icon on the microphone while talking into the mobile phone’s microphone. If microphone permissions are requested, they must be granted. It is important that the connection is good and that the image is not delayed because, if the image is not smooth, the communication to the headset will not be smooth or will not work (see step 8 in frequent problems). In addition, you must not be on a phone call at the same time or the call will block the microphone and cannot be used by the app.
Step 4.5 - Spy Earpiece Removal, Battery and Turn Off
Remove the spy earpiece by pulling the transparent thread with your fingers. If you are unsuccessful, you can try pulling the transparent thread with a pair of tweezers.
Finally, remember to disconnect the battery when you finish using the spy earpiece to prevent it from discharging. As long as the battery is inside, it continues to be consumed.
Frequent Problems
1 - Does not turn on or charge
If the hidden wifi spy camera won’t turn on or won’t charge, check:
- We are using the included cable and charger, or a charger up to 1.0A and 5V.
- We have left the camera charging for at least 1 hour. They need to be charged before first use.
- The camera is switched off while charging. The camera may be on even though there is no light on because the indicator light icon (step 3.10 or 6.11 in the instructions) has been accidentally pressed. Usually you will be able to tell that it is on if it gets warm. To turn it off, hold down the on/off button for about 5 seconds. You can also turn it on (the blue LED lights up for 1 second and then turns off), wait at least 10 seconds, and hold down with a clip the reset button for 5 seconds to factory reset it and the indicator lights will come back on. It will then be necessary to reconfigure the camera.
- We have not waited long enough for it to charge. If it is connected to the load and at the start of charging you try to turn it on, it may not turn on or the camera may even freeze (if it does not turn off and does not react, let it discharge and then charge for 1 hour). Wait at least 1 hour for the camera to charge to make sure it is charged before turning it on.
2 - Does Turn On, but off immediately
If the camera turns on the blue light and then turns off without showing any light, it is because you have accidentally pressed the indicator light icon (11 in HDCameraPro) which turns off the status lights for greater discretion. Usually you will be able to tell that it is on if it gets warm. To solve it first charge it if necessary and turn it on (the blue LED lights up for 1 second and then turns off), wait at least 10 seconds, and hold down the reset button with a clip for 5 seconds to factory reset it and the indicator lights will come back on. It will then be necessary to reconfigure the camera.
3 - Camera's wifi network does not appear
If the HWxxxx wifi network does not appear, there may be several reasons for this:
- The camera has a low charge. When this happens a power saving mode is activated which deactivates the wifi network created by the camera. It is necessary to switch off the camera by holding down the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds and leave it charging for at least 1 hour. If we cannot turn it off, first wait for it to discharge and then charge it for at least 1 hour.
- The camera is configured or partially configured. The camera when configured to connect to a wifi network turns off its wifi network. This is completely normal. If it has not been configured correctly or we want to reconfigure it, it is necessary to factory reset it. To do this you need to switch on the camera, wait at least 10 seconds and hold down with a clip the reset button for at least 5 seconds. Wait at least 20 seconds and the camera will flash green and we will be able to connect to the wifi network.
- The camera is switched off or is more than 10 meters away from the mobile phone in which we are looking for the camera’s wifi network. Remember that the wifi network that creates the camera only serves, either to see the camera at a distance of a maximum 10 meters or to configure the camera to connect to a wifi network and with internet transmit the video remotely to anywhere.
4 - Don't know how to Create Wifi Network with my mobile phone
Depending on the model of the mobile phone, the way to create a wifi network will vary. It is recommended to Google the model of the mobile + wifi sharing; to find the exact steps.
It is important that the wifi network created is of 2.4GHz type, for this we must:
- If you are creating the wifi network with an iPhone, activate the Maximise compatibility option in the “Personal Access Point” settings.
- If you are using Android, look for a setting that indicates network type, compatibility or similar in settings>wifi zone and activate it or change the network type to 2.4GHz.
It is recommended that this configuration be reviewed by eliminating automatic disconnections when not in use or when the energy saving mode is activated in the phone and general settings that may cause the wifi network created to be deactivated.
5 - My wifi network is not listed in the app
If the wifi network to which you want the camera to connect does not appear in the list check:
- The wifi network is near to the camera.
- The wifi network created, in the case of being created by a mobile phone, is being created by a different mobile phone from the one we are using to configure the camera with the app. The mobile phone that acts as a router creating a wifi network and that will always be near the camera does not need to have the app installed. We need to follow the steps to configure the camera from a mobile phone other than the one that acts as a router.
- The wifi network is 2.4 GHz (this has nothing to do with the 4G or 5G connection type of the mobile). If the wifi network has been created with another mobile phone, it is important to check if it is an iPhone that in “Personal Access Point” the Maximise compatibility option is activated, if available. If the wifi network has been created with an Android mobile phone, check in settings to change the type of network to 2.4Ghz. If the network is a router or portable wifi router, check the instructions to change the type from 5Ghz to 2.4Ghz or reset it.
- The wifi network appears on other devices.
- We have clicked on Refresh in the app.
6 - Camera does not connect to wifi network
If a failure occurs when configuring the camera connection to the wifi network created by a phone or router, it may be due to the following reasons:
- The wifi network password indicated in the app is wrong or strange characters.
- The wifi network is too far away from the camera.
- The camera has a low charge.
- The mobile phone from which the camera is being configured (on which the error has appeared) after telling the camera which wifi to connect to and disconnect from the wifi network HW-xxxx has no internet connection (from another wifi network or mobile data). In this step it is necessary that the mobile phone recovers the internet connection to search the network for the camera and finish the configuration successfully. This is usually the case if mobile data is activated. If we have deactivated them to force the wifi connection, it is important to reactivate it when the mobile is disconnected from the camera’s wifi.
- The wifi network is not 2.4GHz (see point 5 in common problems).
If this fault occurs, the camera will be wrongly or partially configured and it is necessary, while the camera is switched on, to hold down with a clip the reset button for at least 5 seconds and follow the configuration steps again.
7 - Can't see the Image when I Move the Camera Away
If you cannot see the camera when you move away, there are two reasons for this:
- You have not finished configuring the camera. If you are connected to the wifi HW-xxxx you will be able to see the camera in the app but you are connected via Wifi Mode/AP Mode. This mode can only be seen within 10 meters around the camera. You need to continue the configuration in step 3.7 for the camera to connect to a wifi network with internet and transmit the image remotely anywhere in the world.
- The wifi network to which the camera is connected (either the wifi network of a router or created by a mobile phone) is disabled or out of range of the camera.
If you need to reconfigure the camera you must factory reset the camera by pressing and holding with a clip the reset button for 5 seconds while the camera is on.
8 - The image is seen with Lag or Bad Quality
If the image appears with poor quality or lag, it is most likely a problem of poor connection of the wifi network to which we have connected the camera. To check this we should try connecting another device such as a computer or another phone to the wifi network and search on Google: “speed test”. If the upload and download results are less or equal to 5-10mb/s, we should try another wifi network with better quality or try a SIM card with better coverage in the mobile/portable wifi router that creates the wifi network.
If the image looks smooth but not sharp, check the following point 9 of frequent problems.
9 - The image is Out of Focus
If the image is not sharp we have to adjust the manual focus. To do this, rotate the lens (yellow shaded part in the picture) by holding the camera by the pink part (if it is turned too much it goes out of focus range and it is necessary to turn in the other direction to get back into the focus range). Do not hold the camera by the cable. Depending on the direction of rotation, the focus will move:
- Clockwise rotation -> Farthest
- Counterclockwise rotation -> Closer
It is important to set it correctly to the distance at which you want to focus on the paper, computer screen or environment.
10 - The image is Flipped
If the image is flipped, click on icons 12 and 13 in the HDCameraPro app.
11 - I hear nothing or very low
This is one of the most common problems with spy earpieces. There are several possible reasons why you hear little or nothing. We will carry out a series of tests:
- Clean the holes in the earpiece with a fine needle and be very careful to remove the wax that clogs the earpiece and can cause you to not hear anything.
- Check that the battery is charged. If it has been left in the spy earpiece for a long period, it will be flat and a new battery should be used. The battery discharges even when not in use.
- Unscrew the black cap on the spy earpiece and insert the battery with the positive side facing up (where the letters of brand and model of battery are is the positive side).
- Screw the cap back on, making sure that it is screwed on correctly.
If you hear a sound similar to a tuned radio when you put the spy earpiece in your ear with the battery inserted, the spy earpiece is working and the problem is different.
Put the earpiece next to the white inductor element and try again. Remember that it is very important to have a good internet connection (check step 8 in frequent problems). It is also advisable to test with another mobile phone. In addition, you must not be on a phone call at the same time or the call will block the microphone and cannot be used by the app.

12 - Spy Earpiece Emits a Loud Sound
The untuned radio-like sound is normal for all Vip Pro spy earpieces. It is due to the constant amplification of the inductive waves emitted by the piece.
If the sound is very loud, and you can hear it even when it is not in the ear, follow the steps below:
If the sound is very loud and can be heard even with the earpiece out of the ear, unscrew the cap and check that the battery is oriented with the positive + pole upwards and that the cap is screwed on correctly and aligned. If the problem persists, open the spy earpiece and gently spread the spring inside the earpiece with your fingernail. In this way, it will be deformed, and the contact will be made correctly. It may be necessary to make this adjustment occasionally or on the first use.
13 - Microphone does not work
To activate the microphone, click on icon 2 in the app, leaving the speaker unchecked. Then turn up the volume on mobile and unmute. If still can’t hear it, exit and re-enter the app.
14 - I can't remove the spy earpiece
Remove the spy earpiece by pulling the transparent thread with your fingers. If unsuccessful, you can try pulling the transparent thread with tweezers. It is advisable to have someone else remove it for us as they will be able to see the thread better to pull it out with the tweezers.
Finally, remember to disconnect the battery when you have finished using the device to prevent it from discharging.
15 - The spy earpiece is no longer working.
- Check that the battery has charge. If it has been left in the spy earpiece even if you are not using it, it will be flat and a new battery should be used.
- Check that earwax is not clogging the spy earpiece speaker. If it is, carefully clean it out using a needle or pin. It may be necessary to perform this step every few uses.
- If you hear a sound similar to a tuned radio when you put the spy earpiece in your ear with the battery inserted, the spy earpiece is working and the problem is different. Follow the steps in the frequent problems section (11 – I hear nothing or very low).
